ONH Project Updates: let's talk about community planning

Louise Stubbs

What's different about ONH? Community is at the heart of all the projects we work on. Whether it's a asset management, a neighbourhood plan, design code or support with a planning appeal, we will work with you to find the right approach to your unique situation.

Horsford, Norfolk, Community Engagement

On a Saturday in November, ONH joined Horsford Parish Council at a community engagement event for their neighbourhood plan. Horsford has developed an excellent relationship with the local planning authority and developers, this proactive approach helped shape a truly collaborative event and an exemplorary level of community engagement.

We were particularly impressed with some of the new sports hub site designs from budding young planners!

Steyning, Sussex, Design Code

Steyning in Sussex is a charming town, steeped in local history. ONH have been appointed to deliver a design code, and has begun the project with a careful analysis of the town and its existing architecture and character. Amongst the array of beautiful and historically significant buildings, we were also taken by the sheer volume of twittens - narrow passageways with hedges or walls either side.

Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, Planning Representations and Appeals

ONH have been busy in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire this month supporting town and parish councils with planning representations and appeals, as with all ONH projects, each planning application is dealt with on a case-by-case basis, working with the client to address their concerns and aims.

Neighbourhood Plans

We're experiencing a high number of enquiries about neighbourhood plans, including support with partially completed projects and new. If you have been thinking about making progress with a new or revised neighbourhood plan, it is worth considering the deadlines to be considered under the 'old rules' created by the new National Planning Policy Framework.

Four neighbourhood plans and one design code have launched digitally through our custom websites in the last month. Our digital sites are simple to navigate, use and understand and can include interactive digital maps and consultation tools. Contact us if you would like to know more.

Visioning

What is visioning you might ask? There are a lot of options for Local Councils facing oncoming change - perhaps a devolution of a service to add to their bow, a new property, or the tricky problem of an existing asset that isn't working well for the community. In visioning, we combine ONH's planning and local council experience to work with you and find the right path forward for your community.

The office is closed over the Christmas period, but emails to the info@oneillhomer.co.uk address will be monitored over the break for urgent enquiries.
