We have produced design codes, design guidance and area character appraisals for historic market towns, parishes and villages for over a decade. Our latest codes follow the principles of the national model design code but are finely tuned to fit with the LPA code to make them much easier to understand and apply. They also properly engage local communities in framing the design strategy that the code will follow. They are most often produced as part of a neighbourhood plan project to benefit from funding support.
