In the last year changes in national and local planning policy have rolled in thick and fast, many with a
significant impact on town and parish councils. ONH: Planning for Good are hosting a free online seminar 'From Guesswork to Game Plan' to learn more about the changes and how they impact on councils.
The Chief Planner has these words for Local Authorities: "You will be aware that government is preparing to roll out a new, faster local plan system. Local Planning Authorities with plans already underway will be working at pace to adopt these under the existing system by December 2026. But there is also much that local authorities with adopted plans can do to prepare to for the new system when it comes into effect, and MHCLG is encouraging them to take action now." ONH are offering this session to help town and parish councils understand how best to prepare for the future, our planning experts will also be on hand to answer your questions.
On the agenda: the new National Planning Policy Framework, Green Belt/Grey Belt, Neighbourhood Plan funding, housing figures, the Levelling Up and Regeneration Act, Appeals, Site Settlement Plans and more.
