An ONH confession - we love sharing the progress of our projects. Here's an update from the last few months, focusing on a selection of our current town and city projects:
Digital planners:
Many of our town and city clients have taken advantage of the digital engagement and mapping tools we can offer at ONH. New Milton, Kettering, Leighton-Linslade, Blacon and Totton & Eling have all had new ONH neighbourhood plan websites built and launched over the last few months. Each website serves as a structured introduction to their neighbourhood plan project, whether that's a brand new plan, or a review of an existing project. Additionally, the websites host consultations and interactive policy maps, allowing residents to fully explore each proposal before sharing their views.
Kettering Central have just completed its first Neighbourhood Plan early engagement consultation exercise, with additional support from ONH, who joined them at their wonderfully busy launch event at Kettering Arts Centre. The Kettering team also ran specific youth engagement work in partnership with a local college. Overall, hundreds of comments have been gathered and analysed and will shape the vision of their Neighbourhood Plan as it develops.
Meanwhile, New Milton's revised Neighbourhood Plan has just completed a policy review consultation, gathering feedback on a policy by policy basis.
Leighton-Linslade's second early engagement period has begun: this time focusing on refining policy ideas, including site-specific policies to renew the town centre.
Blacon, in Chester, have begun Regulation 14 consultation on their Neighbourhood Plan and Regulation 21 consultation on a Neighbourhood Development Order.
Why are digital tools so useful?
Digital plans are more accessible for residents and stakeholders, allowing more of the community to engage with the process. Digital planning options are also cost effective and straight-forward.
Where else have we been travelling?
St. Neots joined as an ONH project this month, with the first steps focused on scoping their plans and a site visit from our team. St. Neots is a beautiful 1,000-year-old town nestled alongside the River Great Ouse and at the meeting point of numerous constraints and opportunities - from county boundaries to transport infrastructure. We're looking forward to continuing work on the project as it develops.
