Neighbourhood Plan Premium

The changes in national funding for Neighbourhood Plans have changed the approach many neighbourhood planning groups would have taken towards securing and funding technical advice in the past. ONH are able to help you navigate these changes and secure the evidence you need to be successful.

Over the years we have honed our support for neighbourhood plan projects to focus on those parts of the process where clients most value our expertise and experience. Our tried and tested project management processes and examination-proof, templated planning policies offer clients all they need to be confident their plans will be technically robust.

But we’ve also learned a lot about how to engage stakeholders effectively, ranging from the local community (voters!) to infrastructure providers, key employers and land interests. As with the technical processes, this aspect of neighbourhood planning also has the potential to trip up those that ‘don’t know what they don’t know’.

What is included in Neighbourhood Plan Premium?

Our Neighbourhood Plan Premium product runs on from the Scoping or Review products to provide clients with the necessary technical and engagement support to tackle more difficult policy areas like site allocations. It also provides more project management support in helping client teams through the likely longer process than needed for projects using our Neighbourhood Plan Basic product.

It includes plan and policy map production in collaboration with the client team and the production of other key documents like the basic conditions statement and modification statement. It also includes the production of a strategic environmental assessment (screening, scoping and report production) - and other technical support packages no longer available through the Neighbourhood Support program - and support through the examination and referendum stages.

How can Neighbourhood Plan Premium provide additional support for site allocations?

For those clients allocating sites for development, our product ensures that this crucial process follows the rules and synchronises seamlessly with the strategic environmental assessment and other technical inputs. Its conclusions lead to site allocation proposals that are watertight and well-argued when coming under the inevitable fire from developers with sites than haven’t made the cut. This includes the important examination process where we produce answers to examiner queries and rebut objectors’ arguments.

If you are unsure about how to use your new or reviewed neighbourhood plan to respond to difficult policy issues like making allocations then this product will provide you with everything you need.
