Digital Neighbourhood Plan
Neighbourhood (and Local Plans) have been traditionally produced as PDF documents for many years. Though straightforward PDF plans have limited accessibility and can be hard to navigate, particularly for those who are unfamiliar with planning policy documents.
Over the years, we have found that our clients strongly value achieving the highest levels of engagement possible for plan development in their area, and accordingly, we have invested in developing Digital Neighbourhood Plans. Each Digital Neighbourhood Plan is designed to be engaging, easy to use and cost effective.
Each Digital Neighbourhood Plan is custom made and uses a Wordpress based website construction, reflecting the character of each town or parish. The websites include colourful interactive policy maps, separate policy areas to explore, and clear archives of supporting documentation.
Digital websites and consultation can be easily read and engaged with from home, on the train to work, or at a school. We know hard-to-reach groups are more frequently able to engage in digital consultations than paper options.
Please note: clients choosing the digital neighbourhood plan option are responsible for producing their own PDF versions of the plan, if required. A simple word document version of the plan will be provided to you so that you can do so.
What customisation options does a Digital Neighbourhood Plan include?
Customisation can include your choice of domain name, local photography, digital consultation approaches and community blogs. Blogs are a fantastic tool to keep the community updated on progress with the neighbourhood plan and show just how involved your community has been - sharing event photos and feedback – as well as improving the SEO (search engine optimisation) of your project.
Our digital consultation surveys use GIS mapping, allowing respondents to pin their answers to particular locations in your area, and gather a greater depth of usable information from each survey.

Policy compliant and accessible websites
Clients can be confident that their websites are produced to appropriate government standards, including website accessibility (WCAG 2.2 or latest version) and GDPR. Digital products improve accessibility – allowing users to adjust the document to suit their personal preferences and needs for example: adjustments to the text size; colour contrast; and the ability to navigate quickly and easily straight to the content they are looking for.
