former railway station with made land that required remediation. The old railway line which runs along its northern boundary is now a greenway that connects to Burnley.
A design framework that could deliver the first phases of the residential
development with the flexibility to accommodate future changes to the scheme mix was also used to test different mix and use options for a viability appraisal to justify the final proposals.
The scheme has subsequently been developed out in phases with the subsequent reserved matters applications used to negotiate a fully residential development of 113 dwellings.
